Work on AMF.NET has stopped. You should feel free to use AMF.NET provided that you are willing to troubleshoot whatever problems you may run into. AMF.NET 0.3 was used successfully on a number of project, but do use it at your own risk. If you aren't willing to take said risk, find an alternative.

AMF.NET now has much better support for inputting custom objects (typed objects). The How To section of the website has detailed information on how to use it. Asside from generic support, I don't expect much more changes to AMF.NET.
